Overview
Shed operates on a subscription-based model to make sure your treatment continues smoothly and without interruption. As part of this model, members are automatically charged according to their active program. These charges cover access to your provider, follow-ups or refill requests, prescription management, and the support of Shed’s care team.
Below, we’ll explain how Shed’s billing system works, how to manage or cancel your subscription, and what to do if you notice unexpected charges.
Why Are Charges Processed Automatically?
Automatic billing helps prevent treatment gaps and ensures your medication is shipped on time. Even if you haven’t yet submitted a refill request, your subscription charge will still process. This keeps your account active so that your provider and pharmacy can move quickly once your refill is due.
Managing Your Subscription and Payments
Changing Your Program or Plan
If you’d like to switch programs or update your current plan, you can do so directly in your Shed portal. Changes will take effect in the next billing cycle. If your new plan requires a provider consultation or a prescription change, that step will need to be completed first before your new billing cycle begins.
Canceling Your Subscription
You can cancel your Shed subscription (once the 2-month minimum has been fulfilled) at any time to stop future charges.
Log into your account at Shed Patient Portal.
Go to My Treatments → Manage My Subscription.
Select Cancel Subscription and follow the prompts.
Your subscription will stay active until the end of your current billing period. No additional charges will be processed once the cancellation takes effect.
What Happens After Cancellation?
When you cancel your Shed subscription:
Your payment method will be deactivated from active billing.
No further charges will occur.
Your account information will remain securely stored in compliance with HIPAA requirements.
Like most telehealth platforms, Shed archives accounts rather than fully deleting them, which ensures your medical records and provider notes remain on file if you decide to return in the future.
Why Charges May Appear Without a Refill
Because Shed subscriptions are tied to your overall treatment program (not individual refills), charges are processed on your set schedule.
If you see a charge but haven’t received medication yet, check your Refill Request Status in the Shed portal under My Treatments.
Checking Your Payment Methods
To avoid billing issues, confirm your credit or debit card information is current in your Shed portal. If a card has expired or been replaced, update your payment method to prevent delays in your subscription or medication shipment.
Tips to Avoid Billing or Refill Issues
✅ Check Your Plan Settings — Ensure your subscription and billing schedule match your treatment plan.
✅ Cancel in Advance if Needed — Cancel at least 72 hours before your next billing date to avoid being charged for another cycle.
✅ Verify Payment Information — Double-check that your default card is up to date.
